FAQ'S

What should I wear for my family photo session?

Please try to avoid busy patterns and graphics when selecting clothing for the shoot. Pictures look best when families are wearing complimenting colors ( I like to stick with about 3 for my color scheme). Also, avoid neon/bright colors as it casts odd color reflections on your skin. Keep in mind the season and the location when choosing your outfit; you don’t want open-toed sandals walking through the desert..OUCH!

Are the photos edited?

Yes! Every image you receive is carefully edited to make sure it is 100% the best product I can give you based on your photo shoot. This includes adjustments to white balance, color correction, exposure, contrast, tone, sharpening, and much more. In addition, every image gets retouched. I correct red eyes, whiten teeth, heal blemishes, remove distracting objects (stain on shirt or sign in the background), and any other retouching that I feel would make the picture look its very best while keeping it realistic and natural.

Why can't I have ALL the pictures taken at the photo session?

Well, each session I take anywhere from 200-500 photos. Taking all these pictures is part of my artistic process. Sometimes I may try a different angle to see how it looks, or have to adjust some minor details in a pose, and sometimes I’m adjusting my exposure or doing a test shot. Sometimes the photo is just not flattering and I want to make sure each client is happy with how they look. The images you get are the very best of the shoot. Finally, I do not display any unedited work. As I mentioned, editing is an intricate part of the photography process that takes up a lot of time and is needed to present quality high resolution images. I want the work given to represent the best of my photography. However, if there is a shot you feel I captured but you missed, or any other concern, please don’t hesitate to ask.
