Cave Creek/North Phoenix
Apache Wash Trailhead (Sonoran Desert Drive)-
If you looking for that authentic open desert landscape this is the location for you! Tons of cacti and desert vegetation with beautiful mountains and flat terrains. Certain seasons you can catch some blooming flowers.
Anthem Community Park-
A beautiful community park that is popular with photographers. Lots of greenery and water backdrops near the lake or rocky waterfall. You could even try to get a shot on the bridge or near the railroad tracks.
Carefree Sundial-
Desert landscapes, great architectural designs, and a beautiful waterfall that runs into a pool gives you lots of backdrop options. It is also home to lots of great holiday exhibits (Enchanted Pumpkin Garden, Christmas Festival, and Sand Sculpting Exhibit).
Scottsdale
Scottsdale Civic Center-
People "love" taking pictures at the popular LOVE statue. There are plenty of other spots to pose near fountains, lakes, colorful flower beds, grassy hills, art sculptures and more!!

Phoenix
Papago Park-
Located next to the Phoenix zoo, this park has wonderful desert landscapes and is known for its "Hole-in-the-Rock" view and hiking trails. There are also many palm trees and beautiful lakes that make for a great backdrop. This spot has so much to offer!!
Scorpion Gulch (South Mountain)-
This location has plenty of desert landscapes involving cactus, large desert trees, mountains and pretty sunsets. In addition, this location is home to an old trading post that offers a lot of textures and creativity through the use of its stone buildings and entry ways.
Encanto Park-
This park has been named on Forbes Magazine's list of America's Best City Parks. It is another great location if you're looking for that grassy, palm tree, waterside backdrop. There are also several bridges that make for a nice photo op!
Downtown Phoenix-
Looking for some modern or urban backdrops? Then this is the place for you. Tons of graffiti walls, old modern buildings, art sculptures and architecture. Art is on every corner, just drive around and you'll find something that catches your eye. If you are really into the arty look, Roosevelt Row is home to tons of painted murals and urban decor.
Rio Salado Habitat Restoration-
The Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area stretches along five miles of the Salt River just south of downtown Phoenix. This area is great for that outdoorsy look without having to drive out of the city. Plenty of trees, wetlands, and depending on the season some wildflowers.
Tempe
Tempe Town Lake-
Lots of backdrops to choose from especially along the water and Bridge. You can also get your fix of urban shots here. Mill Ave and ASU are right around the corner so you can add even more setups to your session!
Glendale
Sahuaro Ranch Park-
This park has it all!! Fruit orchards, lots of palm trees, fresh grass, and rose bushes. Not to mention their historic Ranch Buildings that provide can provide a unique rustic/wood backdrops. Oh, and did I mention there are peakcocks walking around?!
****Disclaimer: a photography permit is required (currently $25 for a 1-day permit) that you can purchase through the city of Glendale.
Gilbert/Chandler
Freestone Park-
Here is another excellent park if you are looking for the grassy/water backdrops. With a bridge, grassy fields, waterfalls cascading down boulders, and a lake there are plenty of spots to choose for a great photo shot.
Tumbleweed Ranch-
Behind the Tumbleweed Park is the Tumbleweed Ranch area, that has lots of unique photo opportunities. A vintage truck, white picket fences, orchards, rustic buildings all provide amazing set-ups for your session.
Gilbert Riparian Preserve-
This is an excellent location if you are looking for a natural and beautiful desert location. With its simple desert landscape, trees, water elements, and a bridge their are plenty of nooks & crannies that will provide beautiful images.
